ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
President Bruce Jellard
President Bruce opened the meeting, welcoming members and guests.

He advised that Rtn Gary would chair the committee for the Rotary Tennis Tournament 2010/2011 and be working with Pure Tennis who, as Rtn Bipan had arranged, would run the tournament on a complimentary basis for the Rotary Club of Nusa Dua..

The committee would meet in the coming fortnight.

The committee for the Rotary Golf Tournament Sept. 2010 would meet in the coming week.

Nunie has had further meetings in relation to the Bali Clean up day and would report on this.

PP Jo Rosarius
Reported that the matching grant had arrived and it was a pleasant surprise that the entire amount had arrived in one instalment instead of the usual two instalments.

Jon Zuercher
Said he would fill in a request form for funding of a prosthetic leg for a man who had had his amputated due to cancer. The cost is expected to be 11 to 12 million IDR.

Edward Naus
Thanked the Nikko for arranging a lunch with a “Spanish” flavour, and also thanked Rtn Carlos, who was not able to make it to lunch, for the wine he sent over to toast Spain’s Victory in the World Cup.

PP Carlos also generously donated winnings from Rtns Monty, Frank and Bruce, totalling USD 400.00,- (World Cup bets) to the club to be used as it sees fit.

Gary Phair
Looks forward to working on the tennis committee.

Michael Bruchett
Reminders would be coming around for guest speakers. The next club member to speak will be Rtn Keith Bell.

Jeff Anderson
Bali Clean up Day was shaping up nicely. The committee is now looking for sponsorship and enlisting individual companies to sign up.

Risto Poskiparta
Attended the Rotaract Seminar on July 10th. About 70 rotaracters and a few Rotarians attended. There was keen participation in the event.

GUEST SPEAKER PRESENTATION
Robin Dougherty of the Rotary Club Seminyak presented a power point presentation and spoke on behalf of the Matahari Terbit Centre for which she fundraising.

It will be built in Kerobokan on land that is donated. The plans have been drawn up pro bono by a German architect. It will be free of charge for children with physical disabilities who are often bypassed by the usual school system.

It is intended as a learning centre, to get them into as normal a life as possible in the outside world. Additionally it is planned to have the children attend in small groups, with about 40 children a week attending.

The cost of the project is USD750.000.- which includes running costs for the first 2 years.

Raffle
IDR 440.000.- were sold. The raffle prize was donated by Ari and won by visitor Rtn. Reinhard Jantzen. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.
