ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
President Bruce Jellard
President Bruce Jellard opened the meeting welcoming members and the guests.

PP Mercia Inkiriwang
Annouced she would be going to Jogja and asked if any members had donations, particularly blankets, which she would be happy to take with her.

Liam
Introduced himself, he is associated with “Sole Man Indonesia”, which aims to raise funds for charities for street children in Indonesia.

Johnathan
Introduced himself, he has recently moved to Bali from China, and is looking for an internship in Hotel management.

Robert Eptone
Of the Rotary Club of Seminyak introduced himself, he is co founder of “Sole Man Indonesia”.

Jeff Anderson
Apologized for arriving late.

Gary Phair
Introduced Doug Wallace who has visited our club before. Doug will be donating prizes for our upcoming tennis tournament in May.

PP Ed Naus
Announced all pending prizes have been brought in, and reminded members that each week’s winner of the raffle was required to bring in a prize the following week!

He thanked Susan Stein for her kind donations of a sarong and 3 gift vouchers for future raffle prizes.

Tica
Tica made a presentation on the Asia Pacific Rotaract Conference 2010, held in Sydney in Nov 2010, which she had attended.

There were international guest speakers, including one from Indonesia.

The 18 attendees from Indonesia show cased Indonesian costumes and dance.

Sister club agreements were signed between the Rotaract Club of Nusa Dua and 2 clubs: the Rotaract Club of Subang Jaya, Malaysia and the Rotaract Club of Manila, Philippines.

Tica also announced that the Rotaract’s annual gala fundraising dinner will be held at the Ayodhaya Resort on 9 Feb. Invitation will be sent out shortly.

She appealed to Rotarians to support the event by donating items for the raffle and door prizes, and attending the event.

Robert Epstone
Made a presentation on the charity he has co founded with Beat Schmid de Gruneck “Sole Man Indonesia”

They have abandoned shoes for a year and are raising money for Mobile Medical Clinics and ‘Health and Safety Education and Sport for a Brighter Future for Children in Indonesia.

As the SOLE MEN INDONESIA they plan to walk 500km around Bali, and another 500km in Java, before going on to Australia where they intend to walk 1000km. The project has been inspired by UK’s China based film maker Arthur Jones who is doing similarly in China.

Throughout the SOLE MEN INDONESIA’s year of living barefoot, these two men will be working to raise US$ 1,000,000,- in the first year of the project to help the children and raise the profile of the children’s situation in Indonesia. The project is supported by Rotary District 3400 (Rotary Clubs in Indonesia).

Robert is looking for support in the form of donations, sponsorship, hotel accommodation etc.

President Bruce thanked the guest speaker, wishing the very worthwhile venture every success. He indicated the board would discuss ways in which RCBND could assist.

Tickets for IDR 460.000,- were sold. PP Wes Nieman won a silk hammock. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.
