ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
President Bruce Jellard
President Bruce Jellard welcomed members and visitor. A special welcome was extended to Jeff Anderson who attended the luncheon after quite some time.
The President reported matters discussed at the Board meeting held prior to the luncheon meeting:
- The club will approach two potential candidates to chair the New Generation Committee.
- There are some outstanding financial matters related to the Bali Clean & Green project. To discuss and resolve them President and President Elect plan to meet with the President of RC Bali Seminyak on the occasion of their weekly meeting at Metis on Wednesday, 13 April.
- At the same time the form of the letter to be signed by clubs not agreeing to sign a Club Assembly Agreement shall be discussed.
- With regard to the environmental project the club is in the process of identifying, Mike O’Leary from ROLE foundation is to give a presentation on their rubbish collection project and the ecco learning park.
- The boy with a facial deformity the club agreed to help could not be traced due to wrong contact coordinates.
- The club will publish a full page in the District Conference hand book. Design of the page has been agreed and sent together with IDR 2.000.000,- .
- PP Mercia Inkiriwang, PP Wes Nieman and PP Michael Burchett will hold a meeting regarding the revamping and updating of the club’s web site.
- The Board has in principal approved a Nutrition and Heath project proposed by Ari Murti through the Community Service Committee.
- The financial report was tabled.
The President then asked the floor to present or raise points of common interest.
PP Michael Burchett
He announced a guest speaker to soon speak on the new hospital currently under construction in Nusa Dua and a futher one from the Umbrella foundation.
Also next week’s luncheon shall be held at RIN.
Gary Phair
He apologized having arrive late due to the messy traffic in Benoa.
There had been some positive responses on his note regarding sponsoring of tennis polo shirts.
Eddy Fitzgerald
Also he apologized having been late citing the same traffic as Gary Phair.
PP Mimi Inkiriwang
Seven members and spouses so far have register to attend the dinner hosted in honour of RI President Elect (RIPE). There has however been a late change in RIPE’s travel arrangements. He is arriving now only by 19.30 at Ngurah Rai airport. The dinner will commence correspondingly later. On hearing this news most members who had planned to attend cancelled their participation.
Jeff Anderson
He saw the need to reintroduce himself after PP Mimi Inkiriwang had mistaken him
in an email as the other Jeff (Matthews). He regretted that he has not been able to attend more often due to his extensive travelling.
Priti Kapur
A free tennis clinic for orphans shall be held at the Westin in the run up to the tennis tournament either on 13 April or 1 May. 40 orphans will participate but there not enough rackets for all. The tennis committee is still looking for sponsors that can donate or lend additional rackets.
Mike Van Hessing
He thanked the club for the warm reception. His club has just recently being chartered meeting for breakfast at 6.45 am. He liked our electronic board used for banner display.
President Bruce Jellard
President Bruce Jellard handed him the club’s banner. He promised to
send his by mail.
The President then proceeded to the formal induction of our new member Susan Stein. She read the Four Way Test aloud, received the membership certificate and her badge. The Rotary pin was affixed by proposer Michael.
The members welcomed her to the club by giving her a big hand.

Raffle
Tickets for IDR 281.000,- were sold. Dave Lance won a 90 minutes massage at the Jari Menari Spa donated by Susan Stein which he generously passed on to Eni Pilianingsih. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.
Fines
Fines of IDR 160.000,– were collected for all and sundry offences.
