ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
President Bruce Jellard
President Bruce Jellard welcomed the members and guest. With only 11 members in attendance this was probably the lowest turn out to
date.

The Tennis Tournament has been concluded. He extended a big thank you from the entire club to the Tennis Committee. Gary Phair will later make a summary and present the results.

He on behalf of the club had been served a second subpoena from the lawyers of RC Bali Benoa for allegedly using a protected logo in connection with the Tennis Tournament.

His recommendation was to conclude the case quickly in order not to continue spending time and money.

This evening he will attend the Rotaract weekly meeting.

2 June being a public holiday no luncheon meeting shall be held. As there are some urgent matters to be decided the Board shall meet on 1 June at 11.00 am. Among other topics representatives of the Community Service Committee and ROLE shall be invited to present the pilot waste project Sawangan for consideration and approval by the Board.

Subject to reconfirmation he suggested to hold the Presidency hand over reception on 30 June.

The President then asked the floor to present or raise points of common interest.

He reminded on the District Conference from 10-11 June to which so far only PP Mercia Inkiriwang and he have registered.

Ari Murti
Kerti Praja foundation is asking for the donation of second hand cloth for HIV infected mothers and their families. If you have some just bring them to the next weekly meeting.

On 25/26 May the government is to hold a gathering on garbage collection and handling at Taman Budaya, Denpasar.

PP Mercia Inkiriwang
The deputy assistant Governor is reminding our Club to attend the District Conference on 10-11 June with more than just two members.

The blood bank is looking for donors of the rare B negative blood.

She is off to attend the RI conference in New Orleans and therefore will miss the next one or two meetings.

PP Edward Naus
He boy with the facial deformity cold be traced. The parents consented already to an operation. PP Jo Rosarius and he have arranged the boy being seen by Dr Asmara Jaya on 23 June.

PP Jo Rosarius
The Club as a confirmed balance of USD 179,- on its dues account with RI which shall be set off against semi annual dues for the coming Rotary Year.

Risto Poskiparta
He distributed the roster for tennis volunteers a final time. The numbers of players registered so far may allow the use of two tennis facilities only so that the present number of volunteers may suffice.

Three cleft lip operations had been paid for.

Gary Phair
He summarized the high lights and financial results of the Tennis Tournament which ran from 8-15 June.

  • The finals were played on 15 June at the Westin concluded with the price giving ceremony.
  • PP W. Nieman did a fantastic job with the web site and web auction.
  • Priti Kapur helped a lot with public relation and media coverage.
  • The tennis clinic for orphans was fantastic. Thank you once more Westin and Pure Tennis.
  • The scheduling and publishing of results left to be desired.
  • The roster system for helpers worked well. Rotaract gave valuable support.
  • There are some prizes left will be used in a Raffles draw.
  • There were some towels and shirts left which were or shall be given to orphanages.
  • Though the intake from entry fees was down against last year the overall net result increased by 22 % to IDR 62.000.000,- .

The President on behalf of the entire club thanked the Tennis Committee for its excellent work.

Raffle

Tickets for IDR 100.000,- were sold. The lucky draw shall take place at the next luncheon on 26.5.2011. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.

Fines of IDR 100.000,– were collected for all and sundry offences.
