ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
President Dave Lance
(New) President Dave welcomed the members, visiting Rotarians and guests. Preident Dave expressed his happiness to chair his first weekly luncheon meeting as the President for the Rotary Year 2011-2012.
Prior to the lunch Dave chaired his first Board Meeting and gave a brief overview of this Board Meeting:
Running business was discussed and will continue during his term.:
- R.O.L.E Foundation, Clean-up program (pilot project) by Karl-Heinz Schmelzer
- Shelter Box by Karl-Heinz Schmelzer
- Cleft palate and harelip project by PP Jo Rosarius
- Cleft lip and palate IDR 113 million and a matching grant of USD 27,000.00
- HIV /Aids project by Ari Murti
- Cintanak Foundation (disabled children) by PP Edward Naus
- Other Projects through Global Grants by Bruce Jellard
- Possible water purification program, by PP Mercia Inkiriwrang
Furthermore President Dave announced that New Business will be announced from time to time and that the new board looks very seriously into creative developments in all aspects to enhance our meetings! He asked serious inputs from all members to make meetings all the more exiting!
He asked the floor to present or raise points of common interest.
Visiting Rtn Laszlo Kovacs
Advised that he is the current Secretary and President-Elect at his club. Rotary Club Dunakeszi is a small Club with only 14 members, however is a very active club supporting projects as Disabled Children and Wheelchair supply.
Rtn Laszlo then presented President Dave an envelope with US$. 250,- to our club for our cleft palate and harelip program. Thank you Rtn Laszlo Kovacs and RC Dunakeszi, Hungary!
PP Jo Rosarius
Reported that during the Rotary Year 2010/2011 63 cleft palate and harelip operations were carried out.
Ari Murti
Presented up-dates regarding H.I.V Projects and asked for further support to increase the Mid-Wife Program in different regions like the Klung-Klung area, etc.
PP Edward Naus
Reported about the Cintanak Project for disabled children. That soon a complete list and break down in costing will be offered to our Club for the allocations of the reserved IDR. 30.000.000,-
PP Michael Burchett
Announced that “This is my Life” will continue and even more serious to fill in the Weekly Meetings when there are no guest speakers.
GUEST SPEAKER
President Dave Lance
PP Michael Burchett forced our NEW President to fill-in his turn in “ This is my Life “ program ! What an interesting life up till today Dave has experienced and… he is looking very much forward to this new episode as the President of Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua!
Raffle
Tickets for IDR 360.000,- were sold. The prize was a nice hand made Balinese tray. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.
Fines
Fines of IDR 185.000,– were collected for all and sundry offences. The NEW Sergeant at Arms, PP Martin is very serious in collecting fines. Because of seating before the bell was rung all Rotarians were fined IDR 10.000,- Let’s see where He comes up with next week?!
