Risto Poskiparta
VP Risto welcomed introduced and welcomed guests on behalf of the club.

Priti Kapur
Priti Kapur informed members of RCB Kuta’s blood donation drive this Saturday at the Discovery Mall, Kuta. Those wishing to donate blood were welcome to attend.

Mathew Thorpe
Mr. Thorpe, of ALF, introduced Joseph De Volk who is over from Mumbai for 6 months to work with the 6 yayasasns associated with ALF. He will assist on, amongst other projects, a Health Education Centre.

Martin Aeshlimann
Martin Aeshlimann introduced his guest Tressobel Hotosoit who is the Marketing Manager at the Ayodhaya Hotel.

He has discussed our Cleft palate program with the board of the BHA and an email will be sent to BHA members to ask if they would like to put up a RCBND poster offering Free Cleft palate operation in their staff areas.

PP Mercia Inkiriwang
Mimi was in Sumba last week and noticed there were a lot of cases of cleft palates. She will discuss the possibility of extending our cleft palate program to Sumba with the Community Services committee.

Karl-Heinz
Karl-Heinz announced there would be a Community Services meeting prior to the lunch meeting next week. He announced that Dona Poskiparta would join the committee.

Dr Reno Riandita
Dr. Reno has examined the 2 children referred by Rtn. Eni. He will arrange for a second dermatologist to examine them for a complete diagnosis. He indicated that any care/medication would be a lifelong requirement.

Tressobel Hotosoit
Ms. Hotosoit, marketing manager of the Ayodhya Hotel, introduced herself.

Betty Pitcher and Rachel Ivic
Rtns. Betty and Rachel brought greetings from the Rotary Club of Swan Valley. They are in Bali for the ‘Bali School Kids’ program which their club runs with the RCB Denpasar. The program now looks after the need of about 750 school children in Bali.

Michael Davies
Michael Davies, President of the Rotary Club of Hamilton which has 31 members, said his club sponsored 6 of the children in the Bali school kids program mainly out of money raised in fines.

Michael Tuddenham
Mr. Michael Tuddenham initially bought the case of Mifta (the young boy who our club has arranged facial operation for) said to Ed’s attention, said he would discuss the case with PP Ed after the meeting.

PP Jo Rosarius
PP Jo Rosarius reported Risto had accompanied him on his hospital visit this week. He had discussed Mifta with the doctors and it was now 2 weeks since Mifta had been discharged to go home after the second operation.

PP Jo Rosarius also brought to our attention that the Sanglah Hospital had informed him that the cost of cleft palate operations would go up to 5 million each. They did indicate they were open to discussing a ‘discount’. PP Jo Rosarius will keep us updated.

Requested members to pay their annual dues:

  • USD 70.00 RI dues
  • IDR 240,000.00 District dues
  • RI donation = USD 100.00 Voluntary

Martin Aeschlimann payed a fine for deferring his talk, ‘This is My Life.’

Mathew Thorpe
Mathew Thorpe then gave a presentation on the projects Annika Linden Foundation is involved in on Bali. For details of the foundation and the work ALF does, please visit:
