ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
President Dave Lance
President Dave returned from his long holiday in Pittsburg and warmly welcomed the members and introduced our guest. Dave expressed his happiness to be back to Bali and to our activities. Holidays are hard for the stomach, as it is growing, now it’s time to diet.
As there had been many things going on during his absence, President Dave asked short updates from committee heads.

Karl Heinz
Karl Heinz gave an update about Waste Management Pilot project with ROLE Foundation. The final MoU will be signed with ROLE and all Sawangan Banjar committee members on Sunday 28 August at 8:30. The MoU consists of an expansion to Peminge area, which inludes Jln. Siligita.

Phase 1, as implementation period, will take three months (one month has already passed). Document and presentation material for additional sponsors, especially for a truck, are ready and ROLE has prepared training material for the Banjar and villagers.

Karl-Heinz also reported about two boys, who are suffering Icthyosis a.k.a. Fish Skin disease. The boys were brought into our attention by Rtn Eni. According to Dr. Reno, we are still in the process to find right type of treatment for boys.

PP Bruce Jellard
PP Bruce informed the date of Annual Charity Golf Tournament; Saturday, 11th November 2011.

PP Jo Rosarius
PP Jo reported two new Cleft Lip operations conducted.

PP Mercia Inkiriwang
PP Mimi reported her visit to Puskesmas in Nusa Dua to meet Dr. Sastrawan about new Malnutrition project given by District. Nine children were found for the treatment. Funding will come from out District funds of US$ 675,-.

PP Mimi also reminded about District project to educate young couples about Thalasemia sickness, which is genetic. Karl-Heinz commented, that several clubs are supporting the cause, and maybe this training could be part of our mid-wife training program.

Tressabel told members it’s good to be here again and looking forward to come again.

Jean-Charles
Jean-Charles was happy to be back and was interested to hear more about Waste Management Pilot Project.

PP Michael Burchett
PP Michael reminded about ‘This is My Life’ story for the next meeting. A voluteer will be picked.

PP Mercia Inkiriwang
PP Mimi shared a video from RI Conference in New Orleans on 20 – 25 May. Bill Gates was talking about Global Polio Program and the new President of RI, Kalyan Banerjee, was talking about his view on the coming Rotary Year.

Keith Bell
Keith Bell informed about Annual SKAL Ball. This year the venue is Discovery Kartika Plaza and the date is Saturday 3rd December. Dave and Bruce have booked 2 tables of 10 for Rotarians, 6 seats are still available. Please contact President Dave if interested.

(GUEST) SPEAKER
PP Jo Rosarius
PP Jo gave a presentation on the District’s TRF Seminar he attended on the 20th August with PP Mimi and Karl-Heinz and gave the members an update about District Grants and Global Grants. The biggest change is that two signatures are now required for all monetary transactions.

PDG Dr. Ritje is in charge of the District Grants and she gave our club a few options where to use our US$ 675,- from the District account, and a Malnutrision Project was choosen by our representatives. The project will last one year and if more funds are required RCBND will need to finance the rest.

PP Jo also reported about his contact with Dr. Claus Bogh of The Sumba Foundation about possible cooperation in Cleft Lip project in Sumba. It turns out that the foundation has been cooperating with a team of doctors from Australia and are executing 80 operations in 8 days in Sumba and have been doing this twice a year. So no operations from RCBND are needed at this point of time.

Raffle
Tickets for IDR 1300.000,- were sold. The prize, a Chinese Tea warmer, was won by Karl-Heinz. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.

Fines
Fines of IDR 90.000,- were collected for all and sundry offences.
