ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
President Dave Lance
President Dave welcomed members and our 3 guests, Greg Moore, Nico and Sylvia Retshke.

He updated members on the Board meeting prior to this lunch meeting.
Cleft Palate – 3 more operations last week. The total operations in the last Rotary year were 63. There has been no development on negotiating down the revised price of operations at Sanglah hospital.

The Sawangan Waste management project is on track to commence on Nov 1, 2011. Ace hardware is offering us a 15% discount of items purchased from them for the project. A PR campaign will be rolled out once the project is up and running. The committee will explore the possibility the project may qualify for a global grant.

A date is still to be decided for the commencement of the mid-wife traing project in Klungkung.

Payment will be made to RI for 3 shelter boxes for this Rotary year.

A fellowship evening will be held in lieu of the lunch meeting on 10 NOV 2011, at the Conrad. Our Rotaract club will be invited to attend. We shall look at making this a quarterly event. Members are encouraged to bring their spouses to this meeting. The cost will be IDR 200.000,- , instead of the usual IDR 140,000,- President Dave will request PP Wes to make this change on our website.

President Dave Lance, Gary Phair and PP Michael Burchett will run a half day training seminar on Sunday 30th Oct at the Conrad, for our Rotaract club. Preident Dave will run a session on personal development, Gary on financial reporting and Michael on etiquette.

Gary Phair
Gary Phair has requested members to volunteer to run sessions in future training programs.

All members have paid their RI and District dues, and 23 have made the voluntary donation to TRF, via our treasurer PP Jo.

YKP will receive funding for consumable clinic supplies for a 9 month period, during which they will look for a sponsor to replace the one that pulled out.

Malnutrition Project USD 675,- of district funds will be supplemented by club funds to run a food supplement program for malnourished children for a period of 12 months. Mimi will be responsible for running this project.

Our tennis tournament will be run by Gary and Risto this year.

PP Mercia Inkiriwang
PP Mimi will contact Hyatt for details of the Orphanage Christmas Party this year. She and Michael will coordinate it together as was done last year.

PP Mimi also appealed for more members to enrol in TRF in Nusa Dua in December.

Nico Retschke
Nico introduced himself and his wife Silvia. He is Director Sales and marketing at the Marriot Courtyard, Nusa Dua. Son of a long time Rotarian, Nico was a Rotary exchange student to Texas at the age of 16! Sylvia hope to become active in charity work here in Bali.

Dr. Reno
Dr. Reno advised that the children with fish kin disease will have the eye operations they need at John Fawcett clinic, free of cost.
The mammogram machine that Jeff advised was available for donation will probably be donated to Sanglah hospital once the logistics of getting it into the country are worked out.

PP Bruce Jellard
PP Bruce reminded everyone that the club’s Charity Golf tournament would be held on Nov 12, 2011.

Gary Phair
Gary introduced Rtn. Greg Moore from Perth. Greg had obtained a Jersey signed by the Collingwood club football team. The Jersy was auctioned for 11 million IDR of which 70% would come to RCBND. Gary will reveal an exciting project involving our Rotaract club at the Dinner on Nov 10th, to which these funds will be applied.

Martin Aeschlimann
Martin said he would have more information on research for the vocational services project next week.

PP Martin Smyth
PP Martin advised 8 participants were raising money for our club at hte Bike a fund on Oct 16th and appealed for more to ride, or pledge money to those who were riding.

President Dave paid tribute to Steve Jobs, who passed away recently.

GUEST SPEAKER PRESENTATION
Guest speaker, Greg Moore, GM of the Crown integrated resort in Melbourne, gave and interesting talk on his company’s expansion plans, human resource philosophy and focus on being environmentally responsible.

Raffle
Tickets for IDR 170.000,- were sold. The prize donated by PP Gary Phair was lunch at the Sanur Paradise Plaza and was won by Silvia Retschke. IDR 320.000,- was raised. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.
