ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
President Dave Lance
Welcomed members and our 3 guests: Daniel Elber, our guest speaker from Muntigunung, Reinhold Janzten guest of PP Jo, and Nyoman, General Manager of Jari Menari, guest of Susan Stein.

The meeting kicked off with the induction of Nicolas Retshke (photo above, right), our newest member.

He then asked for an update or projects.

PP Jo Rosarius
PP Jo Rosarius Jo informed that 4 more cleft palate operations with 90 to date this year of which 30 were in this Rotary year. PP Ed Naus has referred 4 children from the Cintanak project for operation, which have been scheduled for the next few weeks.

Karl Heinz Schmelzer
Karl-Heinz reported on developments on the Sawangan clean up. Despite the obstacles faced of getting the Truck on the road (Nunie was away and Risto down with Salmonella) it was hoped that the first clean up would be this Sunday, failing which the project would start in December. He would be meeting with the Sawangan Banjar later this afternoon and have a clearer picture of the situation then.

President Dave requested that Karl Heinz inform the membership of the project launch so members could attend

PP Bruce Jellard
Bruce was congratulated for a very successful Charity Golf tournament raising ten percent more than last year, making this year the highest amount ever raised. Bruce thanked Bipan for sponsoring the putting green which allowed the Rotaract club to raise IRR 530,000.- for their club. Bruce also pointed out that to add value for sponsors, it was important that club members worked together to encourage more participation in future tournaments.

Ari Murti
Ari mentioned a new project proposal – a food donation program. A detailed proposal will have to be submitted to the Community Services Committee for consideration.

PP Martin Smyth
PP Martin reported that the Bike a fund had raised IDR12,550,000.00 for our club.

PP Ed Naus
PP Ed Naus will provide a report on the Cintanak project as soon as possible.

Ed also mentioned he has a prospective donor for our club projects, details of which he will provide at a future meeting.

Keith Bell
Keith Bell informed members that all 8 Rotaract members will be assisting at the Skal Ball with ticket sales and the auction, for which Skal would make a donation toward Rotract projects.

PP Mercia Inkiriwang
The date for the Annual Orphanage Christmas party is Saturday, 17 December. It was noted that last year’s method of assembling the Orphans gifts ( Michael kindly had the purchases made and bags assembled by the Conrad staff) worked well, and we would do the same this year.

The board will consider the suggestion at the next board meeting, that instead of passing around a hat to collect donations from individual members this year, funds already raised be used for the purchase of the gifts.

GUEST SPEAKER
Daniel Elber, Muntigunung Development Project
Daniel gave a presentation on the project’s progress. Extremely interesting and impressive list of accomplishments. Daniel thanked the Club and many individual members for their support over the last few years.

President Dave President dave closed the meeting with thanks to all for attending. He asked Daniel to submit a proposal to the club for any assistance required.

Raffle
Tickets for IDR 600,000.- were collected. A bottle of wine was won by guest Reinhold Jantzen. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.

Fines
Fines or IDR 180,000.- were levied for all and sundry offenses.
