Visiting Rotarians and Rotaract Members
Putu Indra Mayuni, President Rotaract Nusa Dua, Sri Ratika Rotaract Nusa Dua
Vice President Risto Poskiparta
Vice President Risto welcomed members and extended a special welcome to our visiting Rotaractors and guest who were with us as part of “New Generations Month” celebrations.
VP Risto advised that Nico will be unable to take on the position of club secretary for the coming rotary year and PE Risto is looking for volunteers to fill this position. He is also awaiting confirmation from Tressabel that she will look after public relations for the Club.
VP Risto then sent the microphone around the table for any updates, news and interesting asides.
Ari announced that the Vocational services project which offers a 12 month scholarship to HIV children will kick off this Saturday , when the children would be given 1 million each for uniforms and books, for this academic year. Ari invited all to attend if possible, contact her for details.
As the children are from various regencies around the Island, YKP will use NGO’s local to where the children live, to monitor the program. The Local NGO’s will stay in touch with the school, and take photographs of the children in their new school uniforms, to send to Ari.
Putu Indra Mayuni, Rotaract Nusa Dua
Current President of Rotaract Nusa Dua, Putu Indra Mayuni (Indra) introduced their newest recruit Rajiv (above photo, centre) and requested Rtn. Gary Phair induct him to Rotaract (which Gary did with aplomb…)
Gary announced that JC has arranged 20 tickets to a water park in Tuban for the Hipp Hipp Child program. The Rotaract is working on a website so the program can have an online presence and hopefully attract sponsors.
Gary also reported that entries for the a tennis logo competition have started coming in and the Tennis committee hopes to examine them in the coming week or so.
Bipan announced that he had contacted Adidas who have agreed to come on board as a sponsor for our Tennis tournament.
Martin says the Library project will be finalised in the next week.
Karl Heinz shared an update on the Sawangan Pilot project – the shredder would have commenced operation yesterday, and noted a 5th bin needed to be purchased.
Priti reminded members:
- That there will be no Meeting on NYEPI eve – March 22
- There will be a club assembly on April 5th. The meeting will run for an extra 30 minutes, to 2.30pm. There are to be NO VISITORS OR GUESTS at this meeting. This is on the RCBND website. All are requested to make a special effort to attend, Dave is shouting wine!!!
Sri Ratika, Rotaract Nusa Dua
Past President of Rotaract Nusa Dua, Sri Ratika (Tika) Rotaract gave a short presentation on the Hipp Hipp child project. So far there have been 2 outings, both with sponsored tickets and the Rotraract participated in “Outward Bound”” last month. They have spent 4.6 million and have 3.1 left in the program funds.
As a further celebration of Rotaract Month, Tika invited Rotarians to join their meeting this week. The date time and venue have not yet been decided, but Gary will email around details.

Tickets for IDR 390,000- were sold. The prize, a bottle of very nice wine in a very nice bag, was won by Risto. Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.
Fines of IDR 130,000,- were collected for all and sundry offences.
