ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
SAA Ari Murti
SAA Ari called Rotarians to order at 1.00PM following 30 minutes of fellowship.

President Risto Poskiparta
President Risto welcomed Rotarians and noted that it was Ian’s third visit to RCBND. He was also pleased that we again have Guest Speakers.
Risto advised that the forthcoming PETS (Presidents Elect Training Seminar) and Grant Management Seminar would be held in English on 8 June 2013 at the Ayodya Restaurant, Sanur and encouraged all Rotarians to attend. These seminars provide valuable information and interaction on District Grants and Programs.

President Risto then sent the microphone around the table for reports, comments, asides and introductions.

Guest, Ian Cameron
Ian mentioned that he had been a founding member of a Rotary Club in the UK.

PE Gary Phair
PE Gary (above photo, far right) delegated to the visiting Rotaractors for a New Generations update and advised that PR efforts for the RCBND Charity Tennis Tournament (24 August – 1 September 2013) had commenced and a sponsor had been approached for the trophies.

PP Martin Smyth
PP Martin advised that, immediately following our lunch, a delegation (Risto, Martin S., Ari, Jo and Gary) would be visiting Bali Life Orphanage in Ungasan to assess funding requirements and areas where RCBND might assist.

Martin also thanked Bipan and The Westin for their kind donation of two computers which he had collected and will be delivered to Bali Life today. He also referred to an email received regarding financial assistance required by a dilapidated school in Gianyar.

PP Treasurer Jo Rosarius
Treasurer Jo reported that there had been no operations this week and that Dr. Asmar Widjaya was now accredited to Siloam Hospital. Jo also mentioned that out of every family touched by Cleft Lip and palate problems 20% would reoccur in other family members. A discussion followed on preventative measures previously raised by Reno including Folic Acid and other nutritional supplements.

President Risto Poskiparta
Risto raised the subject of Sister Clubs and it was noted that RCBND had previously had two sister clubs being Sacramento and Perth Bay Club. Risto considered that Perth clubs might be a good match and in any event the more the merrier. President Risto was pleased to welcome and introduce our Guest Speakers from Rotaract Nusa Dua who looked resplendent in their campus uniforms.

GUEST SPEAKERS
Rotaract Bali Nusa Dua PE, Agus Kartika
Agus (above photo, far left) gave a very informative report on the Rotaract Bali Nusa Dua’s Petang Program in North Central Bali. They will be visiting the two children, Dewa and Agus, who suffer from a dreadful skin disease (colloquially known as “snakeskin”), an orphanage and the permanent library.

PP Nieman
PP Nieman noted that Dewi and Agus had been the first beneficiaries of Rotaract’s Hipp Hipp Child program supported by RCBND. Wes enquired as to the future of that particular program and was advised by Agus that the program was alive and well after a hiatus due to a lack of Rotaractors in recent times.

Visiting Rotaract Bali Nusa Dua member, Dewa Wesnawa
Dewa (above photo, 2nd from right) then gave a great report on the DTTS and RLI Seminars he had recently attended and the benefits and lessons learned. Dewa thanked RCBND members for the opportunity and looked forward to this coming year.
