ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
SAA Ari Murti
SAA Ari called Rotarians to order at 1.00pm following 30 minutes of fellowship and gave a special welcome to our visiting Rotarians.

President Risto Poskiparta
President Risto welcomed Rotarians and noted that it was Aru’s fourth visit to RCBND. He also gave a special welcome to our visiting Rotarians and especially IPP Patrick of RC Seminyak.

Risto advised that a Board Meeting preceded lunch and a range of topics had been considered and resolved including:

  • Two positions have become open for the 2013/14 Board that being Sergeant at Arms and President Elect. Secretary Priti will circulate an email calling for nominations which will close on 7 June and the vote will be held on 20 June.
  • TRF, RI and District Dues will all be paid in IDR to Treasurer Jo but Rotarians are encouraged to pay their TRF ($100 or more) via Members Access (you will get a better exchange rate!)

Risto reported that PPs W. Nieman and Jo and he will be attending the PETS conference next Saturday and urged other Rotarians to also join this very worthwhile event.

Risto congratulated Ari Murti on the front page, feature story this week in the Bali Daily on our HIV program and also thanked Patrick for circulating the article to all Rotary clubs in Bali.

Risto asked for input into the Annual Report for the 2012/13 Rotary year and advised that the handover dinner will be held at the Conrad on the evening of 27 June. Venue, time and menu to be decided in due course.

President Risto then sent the microphone around the table for reports, comments, introductions and general bonhomie.

Ari Murti
Ari reported that she had held a HIV enlightenment (awareness) seminar last Saturday and thus far this yer has had ‘enlightened’ 400 participants on the way to her personal goal of 1,000. She asked Rotarians to suggest groups, employees, hotels etc who could benefit from a HIV enlightenment seminar which is free of charge.

Masa Yukimato
Visiting Rotarian Yuki (Masa) (above photo, far right) advised that he had been co-opted into the Community Services Committee at RC Seminyak.

IPP Patrick van Krampen
Visiting Rotarian Patrick (above photo, second from right) who is a CP and PP (and member of RCBND for ten years) congratulated Ari on the terrific press coverage in the Bali Daily.

Dr. Linda Phang
Visiting Rotarian Linda (above photo centre), who was born in Jakarta now resides in Belgium near the beautiful town of Bruge. Her club is actively involved in many health programs in Indonesia and in addition to attending as a visiting Rotarian is also representing BIMESA, the Belgium Indonesian Medical Association.

PE Gary Phair
Gary advised that RCBND had agreed to fund 4 Rotaractors to attend the District conference in Solo in June to the tune of IDR 7,000,000.

PP Martin Smyth
PP Martin reported that a delegation comprising Risto, Ari, Jo, Gary and himself had visited Bali Life Orphanage in Ungasan the previous Thursday to assess funding requirements and areas where RCBND might assist. Proposal to the Board will be forth coming.

PP Jo Rosarius
Treasurer Jo reported that there had been no operations this week and that to date we have so far completed 1,356 successful cleft lip and palate operations.

Raffle
Tickets for IDR350,000 were sold. The raffle prize was a nice something or other won by a visiting Rotarian… (details, details…). Past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at the forthcoming meetings.

Fines
Fines: IDR 30,000 were collected for all and sundry offenses.

President Risto thanked all Rotarians, visitors and guests for their attendance before declaring the meeting closed at 2.00PM.
