SAA Risto called the meeting to order at 1.00pm.

President Dona Poskiparta
President Dona called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. She welcomed the Rotarians and guests. She reminded us to pay our annual dues and to return our membership data forms to her. She also encouraged us to pledge to TRF in support of Urs’s climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro later this month, reminding us that Urs will match our contributions (up to a total of USD 1,000 if he summits). Dona then circulated the microphone.

PP Risto Poskiparta
PP Risto announced that the preparations for the golf tournament in November have begun, and that PP Bruce has begun drafting letters regarding sponsorship. He noted that the hotels are not doing as well this year, which may impact their contributions.

PP Wes
Wes introduced his guest, Russell Potter, who is a management consultant. His company is Motivo Management Consulting.

PP Martin Smyth
PP Martin mentioned that, in talking with Russell, he found they had grown up within five miles of each other in the U.K. (though not contemporaneously) and remarked what a small world it is (cue music…).

Rtn. Ari Murti
Rtn Ari suggested that our projects be mentioned in the weekly bulletin. Her project is HIV/Aids.

PP Karl-Heinz Schmelzer
PP Karl announced that today, en route to the meeting, he, Dona, and Risto had driven through Sawangan, where we had had a project. They saw the truck that had been purchased with our funding but learned that it is not currently operable. In addition, the area was not as cleaned up as had been hoped.

President Dona
President Dona announced that two new candidates are in the process of applying for membership in RCBND, Ms. Yulia Tori and Dr. Klaus-Otto Paehler.

Dona also reminded everyone that next week we will have a fellowship dinner at the Tamarind Restaurant, Nusa Dua Beach Hotel, in place of our usual luncheon meeting. Ian will co-ordinate.

With announcements and business complete it was SAA time.

No raffle today. :-(

Fines of IDR 20.000,- were levied for all and sundry offenses.

With business concluded President Dona thanked members, visiting Rotarians and guests for their attendance and declared the meeting closed promptly at 2.00PM.
