SAA Risto
SAA Risto, called the meeting to order at 1.00pm.

President Dona Poskiparta
President Dona welcomed everyone to the LAST meeting of 2015 and mentioned what a success the Annual Christmas Dinner Party was on 12 December. A great dinner with friends and family and the inductions of three new members, Yulia, Harumi and Mirella! Dona then circulated the microphone to members for any comment or news.

PP Bruce Jellard
PP Bruce expressed his pleasure at being back on Bali and attending the meeting, after having been away for some weeks in Surabaya.

VP Martin Smyth
VP & PP Martin Smyth stated that he is very pleased with the response of those whom he contacted for sponsorship for the Christmas party. He was able, within less than two weeks, to get donations of nice raffle prizes and auction items without going outside our membership, and he expressed his gratitude to all the donors.

Don Butera
Rtn. Don related that he had attended the Annual Orphanage Christmas Party at the Grand Hyatt Bali, which was a great success, and he was happy with the outcome.

Don Butera
Rtn. Don reported that both projects of the Vocational Services Committee are coming along nicely.

Urs Klee
Rtn. Urs announced that he and several other members are working on organizing a tennis tournament.

Dewa Gunadi
Treasurer Dewa gave a brief financial report.

Ari Murti
Rtn. Ari announced that she and Klaus are now working on the video on HIV/AIDS.

PP Karl-Heinz Schmelzer
PP Karl-Heinz had several announcements related to the Community Services Committee, which he chairs.

  • The Board approved an additional 1.2 million Rupiah for the scholarship fund to support the person who coordinates care for the children
  • The Board also approved 10.8 million for the HIV/AIDS baby milk fund for the next six months.
  • Karl-Heinz also reported that one of the Suryani Institute’s patients had been so restricted by his lengthy confinement by his family that he is no longer able to walk; the Community Services Committee will bring this patient to the attention of Puspadi Bali in hope that he can receive a wheelchair and some physical rehabilitation.
  • Finally, he announced that he will send a letter to Rtn. Priti Kapur, who chairs the New Generations Committee, to give a detailed explanation of the disposition of the 18 million Rupiah that Rotaract received.

President Dona
President Dona, who chairs the Fundraising Committee, announced that they will hold a meeting to discuss planning for a gala dinner.

PP Risto Poskiparta
Risto Poskiparta announced that the Grand Hyatt did a very good job on the planning and presentation of the orphans’ Christmas party. It was attended by almost 400 children!

With the end of year upon us, there was no raffle today. :-(

Risto, in the spirit of Christmas, levied no fines today. :-)
