ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS
SAA Risto
SAA Risto, called the meeting to order at 1.00pm.

President Dona Poskiparta
President Dona welcomed members, and guests. Dona reminded everyone that there is no lunch meeting next week, 10 December. In lieu of lunch next week we will have our annual Christmas Dinner Party on Saturday 12 December at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel. Also Dona reminded members we will be co-hosting the 23rd Annual Orphanage Christmas Party with and at the Grand Hyatt Bali. Please contact Ian for more information on both events.

She also urged members to join the Vocational Services and Community Services committees.

Lastly, Dona announced that RC Bali Seminyak had won a car from Gramedia and is taking bids on it.

Announcements aside, Dona then circulated the microphone asking members to please report their business when they receive it.

Guest Paola Laasonen
Paola (above photo, left), continuing her holiday on Bali, told us about her visit to Singaraja / Lovina which included a nice experience dolphin watching.

VP Martin Smyth
VP & PP Martin reported that there is no resolution yet regarding the girl from Lombok who needs surgery. He will update us when he has more information.

PP Risto Poskiparta
PP Risto announced what he had collected thus far in raffle tickets and urged more contributions, since today marks the anniversary of moving our weekly meeting to Bali National Golf Club and we donate the proceeds of today’s raffle and fines to the staff of who have served us all year.

Don Butera
Rtn. Don reported that both projects of the Vocational Services Committee are coming along nicely.

PP Edward Naus
Edward reported that he has received a donation of IDR 2,000,000 from Roger and he himself is donating 1,000,000 for any surgery that the girl from Lombok may require; he will give these donations to Risto, and he urges everyone to contribute.

Ari Murti
Ari talked about progress on her film and mentioned that sex workers seem to be more willing to talk about HIV/AIDS, which is a good thing. She also told us that the victims of HIV/AIDS are getting younger, which is cause for alarm.

PP Wes
Wes sent an email to members reminding them that this past Tuesday, 1 December, was World AIDS Day and pointed out the potential economic and business problems that can come from increases in the numbers of victims of HIV/AIDS.

Wes also informed us about a new Vocational Services project to train SLB-B (Deaf School Bali) to make ceramics.

With business and presentations complete it was SAA time.
