ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS

SAA PP Risto
SAA for Risto, brought the meeting to order at 1.00pm.

President Dona Poskiparta
President Dona announced that there will be a Grant Management Seminar on Saturday, June 18, at the Paragon Hotel in Jimbaran, and she requested that more members register for the seminar. PP Wes commented that applying for grants and adhering to the reporting requirements is extremely time-consuming, and he asked for more members to be involved.

Dona announced that we will have our handover dinner in July rather than in June, since RCB Seminyak is having their handover dinner on June 25 and we are invited. Dona then circulated the microphone.

Adjis Budidjaya
Adjis, our new treasurer, expressed concern that in May we had more expenditures than income, which suggests that we need to do more fundraising.

PP Gary Phair
PP Gary relayed a message from Rtn. Ari Murti, who today was at Yayasan Kerti Praja doing a training for sex workers. Ari requests that we pay the scholarship money for the HIV-affected children in early July, so that they can buy their new uniforms before their ceremony on July 12. She also said that she had met with a film director from Australia, and he had given her some useful input regarding the video.

Klaus-Otto Paehler
Klaus reported that he had reviewed the HIV / IDS video carefully and had found a few small errors; he informed Ari of his findings and will have them corrected before we ‘go public’.

President Dona
President Dona announced that with her being President again and IPP Karl taking the position as Secretary their would be one empty position on the Board (IPP) which neither could fill. As such the Board voted, and PP Gary accepted, to take the position of Director next year, which means that he will serve on the Board.

Dona also announced that five of our members received recognition from RI for having contributed at the Paul Harris Fellowship level. The members are Jose (first time) and Carlos, Michael Burchett, Edward Fitzgerald (2 level) and Dona herself. We thank all of them for their contributions.

PDG Panudiana Kuhn
PDG Kuhn told us about having attended the Rotary Internationa Annual International Convention which this year was held in Seoul, South Korea. This year was the largest convention ever by attendance with nearly 50,000 Rotarians in attendance. There was a great deal of enthusiasm for projects and for alliances with sister clubs all over the world.

Raffle
Tickets for IDR 550,000.- were sold. The prize, a bottle of fine red wine, was won by Mirella Neumann. Mirella and past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at forthcoming meetings.
