The six babies under the breast milk substitute program were all present accompanied by their mothers. Also some fathers had come. All mothers and some of fathers are HIV +. All babies looked healthy, so did the parents.

All facilities in the clinic looked clean, well-kept and organised. Kerti Praja Foundation is very appreciative for the support has received and is continuing to receive from RC Bali Nusa Dua.

Karl-Heinz had written an email on behalf of the Club to our fellow Rotarian Reinhold wishing him a speedy recovery after his accident, thanking him for his generous donations for goodie bags and for letting his financial controller Agus do the audit last Rotary Year. Get Well soon Reinhold! :-)

Rotaractors Nardi and Mardian
In the last three months the Rotaract Club Bali Nusa Dua has been very busy and active. First up, under an international exchange program two Malaysian Rotaractors from Club Pantai Valley visited Bali. They were familiarised with Balinese customs and cuisine and in return did some English teaching.

Then it was time to assist RCBND with the 24h Annual RC Bali Nysa Dua / Grand Hyatt Bali Orphanage Christmas Party sponsoring 10 children from Gereja Katolik Maria Bunda Segala Bangsa.

Then it was time to help fund raise at RC Bali Nusa Dua’s Annual Christmas Dinner Party before joining the Retractors at RCB Seminyak.

Going forward the main project will be to reinstate the Hip-Hip Child program. To that end Nardi asked if members of RCBND could assist in getting tickets to various theme and fun parks around Bali.

GUEST SPEAKER
PP Suzana Chandra
In addition to PP RC Bali Denpasar and PADG Suzana (above photo, 3rd from the left) is a tax consultant with GPU & Co (Arthur Andersen), Managing Director – PT Lestari Living (property developer, Contractor, Hospitality management, Commissioner Bank Lestari Jatim & Bank Lestari Jateng and Executive Vice President – PT Lestari Capital

Suzana took the opportunity to speak about the past, current and expected economic development of Indonesia and Bali in particular. From an informative slide show presentation three charts stood out:

Major sectors contributing to Indonesian GDP growth 2016 Indonesian GDP growth by region in 2016
Sectors contributing to Indonesia's GDP 2016

Sectors contributing to Indonesia's GDP 2016

Projected future GDP and Income per Capita

Projected future GDP and Income per Capita

In general Indonesia is coming out of a period of sluggish growth, and experienced some promising development last year. The economy is expected to grow at a healthy pace this year and next year. The mid-term and long term outlook are positive given the large population, with 50 % below the age of 30, and a growing middle class.

A lively question and answer session developed after the presentation.

On behalf of the members President Dona thanked Suzana for her presentation.

Acting SAA Martin S took over and informed that raffle tickets in the amount of IDR 550.000 were sold.

Raffle
Raffle tickets of IDR 550,000 were sold with a ‘virtual’ prize won by PP Risto. Risto has virtually forever to bring another prize but other past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at forthcoming meetings.
