PP Wes
PP Wes updated all present regarding the cleft lip & palate and (Puspadi Bali) artificial leg programs. First, PP Wes and PP Karl-Heinz plan to attend the District Clubs meeting on Saturday on District Dedicated Fund projects and will present our Puspadi Bali project with the intention of garnering support (and funds) from other clubs in the District that have yet to identify a use for their DDF money this year. To that end PP Wes has put together a short video about our prosthetic leg program. This will be shown at the District meeting Saturday and then uploaded to YOuTube.

Further PP Wes mentioned that he has up-dated our club’s cleft lip & palate slide show presentation in the hopes of attracting ‘bridging funds’ for operations until a Global Grant can be awarded.

Also fwiw, PP Wes added that in addition to the Prosthetic leg movie Rtn Ari’s videos on HIV/AIDS and Milk Baby Milk support programs, in bahasa Indonesia, are now available on YouTube (see link below).

Rtn. Yuki
Rtn. Yuki informed the Club that last Tuesday he joined PPs Risto, Karl and Wes visit to RSU Dharma Yadnya and met with the Marketing Mgr to discuss the sustainability of our current Global Grant and a training program of future plastic surgeons.

Rtn. Ari Murti
informed the Club with the latest up-dates wrt Kerti Praja.

  • Regarding the Baby-milk distribution the supply system to HIV Baby’s will be under supervision and advise by Doctors.
  • Further at present our club supports 3 Scholarships , 1 x Male, 2 x Females in he age group of 12 – 13 Years of Age. Rtn. Ari requested if possible to extend our scholarship support to a Total of 5 students and to support then with finding work in near future.
  • Rtn. Ari suggested to invite one of our present female scholars to perform during a Club – Function in future , because this Scholar is an extreme talented Balinese Dancer.

PP Risto Poskiparta
PP Risto reported that he, PP Karl-Heinz and PP Wes together with Kolewa Foundation met with Prima Medika to discuss the possibility of a new partnership and MOU. He has received prices and we will now meet again for further negotiations.

IPP Dona Poskiparta
Informed the club, that she discussed with PDG Ibu Nilawati and Rotary Club Bali Taman and that Bali Taman has expressed, in principle, their interest to financially support our Cleft Lip and Global Grant application under the condition that we would work with selected medical partners.

Further Rtn. Dona, updated us regarding our Club support of the scholarships of
SMKN-1 and introduced Mr. Budiarsa from SMKN – 1.

Guest Bpk. Budiarsa

Bpk. Budiarsa presented the latest information regarding our SMKN -1 scholarship program.

Bpk. Budiarsa reported that more than 100 students approximately 5% of all students are not able to pay for their annual school-fees. Schooling costs include books and uniforms. However public schools cannot refuse to accept the students because the Indonesia Ministry of Education insists of education for all children until the age of 16 years old.

That being the case, SMKN -1 (and other schools) will not hand-out Graduation Certificates to any student owing school fees until after the payment has been settled!
