ANNOUNCEMENTS, REPORTS

Acting SAA Martin Smyth
Acting SAA Martin rang the bell and called the meeting to order at 1.00pm.

President Edward Naus
President Edward welcomed Rotarians to the very pleasant Ayoydya Resort our venue for today’s lunch meeting.

The President thanked Rtn Martin Aeschlimann, the GM of Ayodya Resort, for his prompt and welcoming response once again to Rotary’s last-minute enquiry if he could make a lunch venue available. He also thanked the F&B Manager and staff for their welcome and excellent service.

Pres. Edward advised that he, Yukisan, Debra, Dona and Karl had just arrived fresh from the handover ceremony at SMKN1 in relation to the 27 scholarships provided by RCBND with the generous support of personal RCBND sponsors (Yuki, Debra, Dona, and Wim from RC Zwarwatersteden).

He then dispatched the “microphone” on its rational journey around the room for updates and comments.

PP Gary Hair
PP Gary gave a brief update on his efforts and the activity on our club Facebook page.

PP Wes
PP Wes appraised Rotarians of his recent trip to Singapore where he had the opportunity to meet with TRF regional representative Hazel and discuss our GG application

Wes also met with a member of the RC Singapore who runs a club supported program there for the provision of prosthetic limbs. They have established an action centre in Jakarta for the supply of prosthetic limbs for the less privileged for a cost of around USD 100.00 and have thus far provided around 10,000 prosthetics. He thought there may be an opportunity for cooperation with Puspadi.

Rtn Yukimoto Masaharu
Rtn. Yuki related that the SMKN1 handover ceremony was a wonderful experience. He pondered what happens to the program after the pilot year 1.

IPP Dona Poskiparta
IPP Dona commented on future fundraing for the SMKN1 scholarship program possibly coming from further individual sponsors.

PP Karl-Heinz Schmelzer
PP Karl, in his position as Treasurer, suggested a report back to honorary RCBND Rotarian Wim on the SMKN1 handover.

Then Karl, in his capacity as CSC chair advised that with the Board members present and also CSC members this “constituted a BCSC and Board meeting to discuss our emergency response to the emerging Gunung Agung crisis. Discussion to be led by Pres. Edward later.

He advised that the draft GG application had been sent to RC Carnegie Collier, Pittsburg and that we are now a position to register our application to TRF online.

President Edward Naus
Pres. Edward then briefed Rotarians on the planning meeting to be held on 29 September whereby the response of all clubs on Bali will be coordinated to harness the strength of all clubs. The steering committee is comprised go four District Governors, past and present, plus club presidents. Edward will attend on behalf of RCBND.

The CSC and Board recommended and approved a provisional contribution of IDR 5,000,000 plus any individual donations raised from our club members. Edward was authorised to advise the meeting of the RCBND initial provisional commitment but depending on the discussion and outcomes of the meeting regarding the application of total funds committed.

Raffle
Raffle tickets of IDR 400,000 were sold and PP Karl was the winner. The prize was a nice something or other. Karl and other past winners owing prizes are reminded not to forget to make their contributions at forthcoming meetings.
