SAA Martin rang the bell and called the meeting to order at 1.00pm.

President Edward Naus
President Edward welcomed members and visiting Rotarians. He introduced the DG Hermanto Angka and the ADG Julia Rivai, who is well-known to club members, and then invited visiting Rotarians to tell the meeting a little about themselves and their Club, RC Wyndham.

Visiting Rtns. Sue and John Selleck
Rtns Sue and John (above photo, left, right) told the meeting that RC Wyndham is a busy club Located between Melbourne and Geelong, with about 45 members. They are active in the community, with major fund-raising activities including an annual fun-run, which raises around $30,000, and a regular “sausage sizzle” outlet in the carpark of a local Bunnings, which is a big hardware store chain in Melbourne. The sausage sizzle raises around $90,000 per year!

Their programs include providing water filters to villages in Cambodia, and exercise books and school supplies to poor schools in India.

PP Wes
PP Wes advised the meeting that he had received advice from the Grand Hyatt Bali that the THE BEST Christmas party on Bali – The Grand Hyatt Bali / RC Bali Nusa Dua Orphanage Christmas Party would be held on MONDAY Dec 18th, from 2.30 pm – 6.00 pm. The Grand Hyatt will invite 225 children, and RCBND may invite up to 125.

Open to children of all faiths, this will be the 25th anniversary of this wonderful event.

Wes reminded the meeting that the usual arrangements will continue, with sponsors being responsible for funding Goody Bags and for provision of transport. Wes also encouraged RCBND Members not sponsoring children to contribute to sponsoring Goody Bags and plan to attend the party.

PP Karl-Heinz Schmelzer
PP Karl-Heinz in his role as Treasurer advised the meeting that we are in the final stages of the preparation of the Application for the new Global Grant (no. 1864795), and that this was expected to be formally submitted before the end of November.


DG Hermanto Angka
The DG, Hermanto Angka, (above photo, centre) gave a video presentation of his profile and activities in Rotary culminating in his election as this year’s District 3420 Governor together with an overview of the District objectives for 2017-18, in order to support the goals of Rotary International. The three main goals this year.

  • To increase membership, particularly of women;

  • To increase fundraising;

  • To increase the number of humanitarian projects supported by District Rotary Clubs.

The presentation was greeted with warm applause.

With the meeting running late, there was no Raffle or Fines today.

There being no other business President Edward thanked everyone for joining today. The bell was rung and the meeting adjourned at 2:20p.m.
