President Edward Naus
President Edward welcomed Members, several still on holiday so a low turn-out, despite what was expected to be an interesting Guest Speaker.

Secretary and PE Hugh Brown
Reminded the meeting that the Bali Region Handover Party will be held on Saturday, 30th June at Taman Jepun, Renon. He noted that this function would be attended by representatives of 13 Rotary Clubs, 9 Rotaract Clubs and 1 Interact, and encouraged other RCBND members to accompany himself and Henny, President Edward and Gerrit Ten Veen and join this occasion. He advised that President Edward would present the Chains of Office to the incoming President in the combined Handover Ceremony.

Members are reminded that the RCBND Hand-Over Dinner will be held on Friday 20th July, at the Ayodya Resort Bali. The opportunity will be taken to present Paul Harris Fellowship Pins to those members who missed an earlier presentation – Rotarians Ian Cameron, Martin Aeschlimann, Jose Calle and Reinhold Janzen.

PE Hugh also advised that he will be travelling to Australia for his daughter’s 40th birthday, and apologised for the fact that he will miss what should have been his first meeting as President on Thursday 5th July. The meeting will be chaired by either VP Eddie Fitzgerald, or IPP Edward Naus.

After some general discussion during lunch, President Edward introduced the Project Karma Team, led by Founder and CEO Glen Hulley and today’s Guest Speaker.

Glen Hulley, Founder and CEO Project Karma Indonesia
Glen (photo above) presented an outstanding and wide ranging talk outlining of the activities of Project Karma, which deals with the challenging, dangerous and confronting problems of child sexual exploitation and slavery in South East Asia, including Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines.

We cannot effectively summarise this presentation in the Minutes, and Members and readers of this site are encouraged to review the video link and/or website below that introduces Glen and his organisation.
