Acting SAA Martin rang the bell calling the Meeting to order at 1.00pm.

With President Hugh away this week, Acting President IPP Edward gave a warm welcome to everyone and special greetings PP Karl for his work on last Saturday’s golf tournament.

Without further ado, Acting President passed the microphone for more news and views about the Golf Tournament.

Feeling confident to answer the eSecretary’s challenge wrt last week’s meeting minutes, i.e. who was the woman in the centre of the banner photo, and garner a couple of free raffle tickets from said eSecretary, PP Martin…

PP Wes
eSecretary PP Wes cautioned PP Martin that an incorrect answer would result in Martin providing a bottle of REALLY NICE wine for next week’s raffle.

… undeterred PP Martin boldly asserted the person was Rtn. Debra. PP Martin now must bring a bottle of REALLY NICE wine for next week’s raffle.

PP Wes
With no one else daring to venture a guess, PP Wes revealed that it was May Ave, younger sister of former RI Minister Joop Ave and current member of RC Bali Kuta!

PP Wes then mentioned a few items:

  • RC Bali Ubud Sunset will hold its one and only fund-raising event, Christmas Dinner Party, on Sunday 9 December 2018. Tickets will be available through Maya Resort & Spa where credit cards and bank transfers will be accepted.
  • Adults 500,000, KTP holders 450,000, Children 6-12 250,000, Under 6 free! and each adult ticket includes 1 free raffle ticket!

    There will be raffle prizes (1 free raffle ticket with each paid adult dinner ticket). Last year’s prizes included: 2 dinners for 2 from the 5 Star CasCades Restaurant – Viceroy Bali; 2 dinners for 2 for the 7 course menu at the world famous Locavore in Ubud; and an overnight stay and 5 course dinner at the 5 Star LUXE in Ubud. Last year raffle items totalled over IDR 70,000,000!

  • With RC Bali Sunset already preparing for their 5th Annual Christmas fundraiser it seems we should begin discussions for our 26th Annual Orphanage Christmas Party…
  • Bali Blood Bank. PP Wes mentioned that PP Eric Kaler gave a support to our idea and as such President Hugh, PP Karl, PP Risto and himself met with PDGs Al and Hanny to get the ball rolling. We will invite RC Bali Taman, RC Bali Denpasar and RC Bali Seminyak to join in this ambitious project. Next step is the Community Assessment…. To be continued.

PP Gerrit Ten Veen
PP Gerrit reminded everyone that our next fellowship and social evening will be next week at Nyoman’s Beer Garden, Nusa Dua. Please bring a friend and enjoy some good German food and a Bintang!

Also Gerrit announced that we will have a Guest Speaker for our 27 September meeting, Ms. Louisa Attard, Manager of Inspirasia and we introduce another organisation – Dnet for Disabled Net an employment agency to help diffabled persons secure employment

PP Risto Poskiparta
PP Risto relayed just how much fun the Golf Tournament was this past Saturday afternoon. Boy’nCow served some Great food, everyone had a great time and announced that Bank Mandiri would like to join together and sponsor the next tournament. Great news! :-)

PP Risto confirmed that 60 t-shirts and 38 golf caps (from previous years’ tournament had been sent to Lombok.

Rtn. Axel reported that he is still not receiving emails from BNG. :-(

PP Karl-Heinz Schmelzer
Golf Tournament wrap-up:

  • 96 players, played. 120 guests joined the Award’s Dinner.
  • Estimate there will be IDR188.5 juta net profit.
  • Publicly pledged 50% of Auction proceeds to Help Lombok, (IDR 40 juta or 7 temporary houses at IDR 6 juta each).
  • Raffles Golf Club had an activity on hole nine that raised IDR 2.8 juta. Thanks RGC!

PP Karl in his role as Treasurer announced that all members are current with their dues and TRF. Money will be sent to TRF this week (before the Rp. weakens further).

PP Karl suggested that a club assembly should be planned for the current GG (President and PE must sign to keep active), presentation of the club’s financial audit and discussion of future GG.

With no raffle prize or fines assessed Acting SAA Martin rang the bell to end the meeting promptly at 2.00PM.

No Raffle today BUT… PP Martin Smyth and other past winners still owing prizes were reminded not to forget to make their contributions at forthcoming meetings.

Also another fine Thursday afternoon with no Fines… ;-)

There being no other business President Hugh thanked everyone for joining today. The bell was rung and the meeting promptly adjourned at 2:00p.m.
