Happy New Year!

A BIG, BIG THANK YOU to the Grand Hyatt Bali, Nusa Dua, for sponsoring and hosting the 20th Annual Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua Orphanage Christmas Party on 16 December, 2011.

The Grand Hyatt Bali management and staff rolled out the red carpet once again hosting 350 orphans, physically handicapped and disadvantaged children aged 6 to 14 years without exception from all parts of Bali to a fabulous afternoon of face painting, games, food, magicians, songs, dances and ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream!

And it wouldn’t be a Christmas party without Santa Claus… So of course Santa stopped by early with a school backpack for each child chock full of good stuff supplied by the members of Rotary Club Nusa Dua together with special gifts from the Grand Hyatt Bali.

Once again thanks to all the wonderful folks at the Grand Hyatt Bali for hosting without a doubt is Bali’s Best Christmas party!

RCBND together with the Grand Hyatt Bali will host the 20th annual Orphan Christmas Party for 350 of Bali’s neediest children from all around the island. No doubt, traditionally one of the best Christmas parties of the year on Bali. A great make up opportunity for all Rotarians.

Tempus fugit… (time flies). To think that in just a few short months 20 years will have passed since Rtns. Jo Rosarius and Wes Nieman joined together with then local tennis pro Craig Marshall to raise money to help needy children on Bali. That first tournament was held in 1991 when Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua was still a provisional club.

Now the longest running, most popular and largest charity tennis event on Bali, Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua will hold its 20th Annual Rotary Bali Charity Tennis Tournament May 8 – 15, 2011.

Since its inception the Rotary Bali Charity Tennis Tournament has generated some Rp. 790,000,000 to provide health and human services to the poor and disadvantaged children on Bali and nearby islands.

Over the years this care has been mainly in the form of craniofacial surgery i.e. hare-lip and cleft palate operations together with burn treatment and surgery to correct other deformities. And so it will be again with the 20th annual tournament; all proceeds from tournament will be earmarked to fund special projects assisting children on Bali.
