The Environment
 

Overview:
Being on one of the world's most fabled islands brings about an especially acute awareness of the environment. As well, many of our members derive their livelihood from tourism and nearly all the people on the island are connected to the land through culture which is based on water irrigation to grow rice.

   
 

Coloring Book Project:
As well, many of our members derive their livelihood from tourism and nearly all the people on the island are connected to the land through culture which is based on water irrigation to grow rice.

With this in mind a colouring book for Middle School children was designated then printed by a Club member. The purpose of the book was to inform children in local community schools about the importance of their environment and what they can do to begin to improve their surroundings. To date, 1,500 books have been distributed to schools around the Nusa Dua area.

The Club hopes to find additional funds to produce more books so that they may distributed in other areas in Bali. Also, the opportunity exists to reprint the booklets with different sponsorship messages, thereby saving on the production cost. Other Rotary Clubs are targeted with this.

   
 

Clean Up:
Working with a local environmental foundation Rotary Club Bali Nusa Dua has sponsored a preliminary study of waste disposal practices in the Tanjung Benoa area of Bali to ........
